What Is this and what do I DO with it threads on the Fountain Pen Network.....

From time to time I will start a thread on the Fountain Pen Network with this title.  They're fun threads,  where I will put up a picture of a common item, asking for readers ideas on how that item might be used for pen repair. The idea is to get the readers to think outside of the box, to see ways in which to use the item for something other than it's obvious or common purposes.
